Acupuncture and herbs Treatable Conditions you Best to Know

Acupuncture originated in China thousands of years ago, and over the past three decades, its popularity has significantly grown in the U.S. Acupuncture involves the insertion of extremely thin, painless needles in a patient’s skin at strategic points in the body, known as meridians. By inserting needles into these pathways, energy flow is re-balanced, which improves overall health, and specific conditions can be targeted for treatment.

The World Health Organization recognizes acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine’s ability to treat over 43 common disorders. Doctors trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine are trained in treatment for all ailments of the body, much like a general care practitioner. Traditional Chinese Medicine [TCM] considers all parts and all conditions of the body are closely related, and that health is directly connected to the balance of yin and yang within the body. Yin and Yang illustrate the importance of the Chinese term “two sides of the body.” Traditional Chinese Medicine states that any disease or symptom is a result of disharmony or imbalance of these two sides. By maintaining the connection between Yin and Yang, a new balance is created, and health is restored. It illustrates the importance of Qi (free-flowing energy) and blood. Acupuncture maintains this harmony by promoting free flow where there is blood and Qi stagnation, leading to the elimination of blockage and pain.
